FULL HOUSE READING CHALLENGE 2018

Hosted by Book Date:Full House Reading Challenge.
Ok here are the details:

Challenge Guidelines:

  • Challenge will run from Jan 1st to December 31st 2018
  • Write and publish a post stating your intention to participate. In the post please include the Challenge graphic and a link back to this post. Then link your intention post at the bottom of this post.  Make sure it is the actual post and not just a generic link to your blog.  If you do not have a blog, leave a comment with stating your intention below and how you are going to track.
  • Add your reviews back here on the link in this post. At the end of every three months there will be two prizes of  U.S. $15 prize with a book of your choice from the Book Depository or U.S. Amazon voucher, for the entries. There will be a new linky then for the next quarter and so on to the end of December.
  • Reviews are not mandatory and if you prefer to keep a list of the books read and the category they cross off the card, then you can still enter for the completion of a Full House by linking to that list on the final linky or in a comment. The list could be kept on somewhere like Goodreads or in a Google doc.  If you are on Goodreads but don't have a blog you might like to link your reviews to the linky to be in to win the quarterly prizes.  Or any place where you do reviews on the web.

Link Ups Each Quarter.
Jan - March    Will go live on January 3rd approximately.
April- June
July - September
October - December
    • Each review can only be linked up once in the year. However it doesn't matter when you read the book in 2018 - which month, just link as you remember or have time. So if you read it in January you may not get around to linking it until say... May. That is fine.
    • Books may cross over from other challenges that you are doing. However a different book for each square, one book cannot cover two squares.
    • There will be a final post to link in a summary post for the challenge for those who have completed a full house. This will close on the 2nd January 2019  and a winner will be chosen using random.org for one U.S. $40 prizewhich again can be used to buy books at the Book Depository or be received as an Amazon voucher. Often participants never come back to link to the completion line!  I will therefore open it early so that you can do it and forget it!
    Completion Link.
Will go live towards end of first quarter.

Obviously some of these will be either fiction or non-fiction, but there are others that could be either and so that is your choice which way you go.

BOOK REVIEW-DO NOT ASK BY ELAINE WILLIAMS CROCKETT

I received a copy of this for an honest review. And I was thrilled, as I had done another of her books-Do Not Assume, however this post was done on my old blog The Best Basic Blogger, which is why I am rewriting this review as a courtesy to the author.
This political thriller starts with the President's twin daughters go missing. Judge Alexander has a daughter who is married to the man who owns this incredible estate in Maryland called Blackhall.Reed is the Judge's daughter, had gone missing a year ago and so the Judge naturally moved heaven and earth to find his daughter. And so the President enlists the help of the Judge to find his twin daughters. I don't want to give too much away, however the story really starts twisting and turning when the Judge's law clerk also goes missing!! I love how she inputs characters in places you would not expect. I thoroughly enjoyed both of her books and I give this 4 cans of Pepsi (my favorite drink).

BOOK BLITZ -MATED IN TREASON By CHRISTA PAIGE

Title: Mated In Treason Series: Kan Asma Vampires #1
    By: Christa Paige
    Publication Date: June 13, 2017
    Genre: Paranormal Romance
    Publisher: Hartwood Publishing
    #matedintreasonblitz
Welcome to the world of the Kan Asma Vampires. The Kan Asma are genetically modified humans who've become vampires. For centuries, the Kan Asma lived symbiotically with their human neighbors until the government recognized something had increased their life spans. Scientists and militia stormed their quiet Abkhazian village and betrayal followed. Many vampires experienced brutality and torture. Others died from experimentation. After a perilous journey, the surviving Kan Asma fled their homeland and settled in West Hollywood, California. The refugees cling to their sacred traditions, holding their mating rites above all others because without them, their numbers would diminish. There is no love or emotion in their Council-determined matings. Now, their quiet lives have suddenly been turned upside down. Lines have been drawn between the wealthy aristocrats and an uprising determined to halt the unfair ritual keeping wealth and power out of reach. Those who are lucky to find love in these matches are very few, and they will have to fight with everything they have in order to claim their mates or suffer a broken heart for eternity.
When the kraliyet bodyguard ended up in her hospital bed after an explosion left him in critical condition, Nadia tried to warn herself not to fall in love with him. After all, she's no vampire Cinderella, and happily-ever-afters didn't happen to low-born females of the Kan Asma. But her heart wouldn't listen, and soon she wanted to claim Gunnar as her forever mate, even if it meant taking him the only way possible, as a husband in a disgraceful human ceremony.
Gunnar fell in love with his nurse the moment he saw her smile. He yearned to claim her as his, but the Council would never allow him to mingle his powerful blood with a female from a poor family. The penalty for an unsanctioned mating is a death sentence. He doesn’t care about the threats and possible consequences of making her his. Though, due to the high probability of genetic incompatibility, he can't complete their blood-bond without knowing if it might take her life. Losing her would be worse than torture.
Their only hope lies with the treasonous Faction hell-bent on destroying the very people Gunnar calls family. Determined to find a way to be mated, Gunnar seeks out the leader of this hidden uprising. Together, Nadia and Gunnar must break every law and rite of their vampire culture to become bonded for life. Gunnar will play a deadly game of subversion or pay a blood price that would sever him from their people and put a bounty on his head. They must survive a dangerous infiltration of the Faction, because they’ll do anything to be together, even if it means being mated in treason.

    Blog Hops and Blog Hopping

I am sure that a few other bloggers have written about blog hops (which are usually a meme or giveaway) and blog hopping (which can be a meme, giveaway or just visiting blogs for fun.
I love entering weekly memes such as:

These are just a few of my faves. This is where I usually start hopping from one blog to another, learning neat things as I go, or finding a new blog to follow. I actually try to visit each blog, sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. But I enjoy it. Blog Hop Giveaways (such as this one coming up)
is a great way to enter contests, and visit other blogs participating in that giveaway hop. Now this Hop I have pictured here is one I signed up for, and greatly looking forward to. It drives traffic to blogs. COMMENTS are important in these hops. Well in my opinion, if you're taking the time to visit other blogs, then take the time to leave a comment!
Another thing I love about blog hops is that you can make great friends. You can never have enough of those.
I spent most of this weekend blog hopping, hoping it would be recipricated, which would be nice. I have visited 128 blogs in two days-yes I kept track. That is alot of blogs and alot of time.To me that is how you support other bloggers. And we need that.

It's Monday What Are You Reading?
